A sustainable, robust IT infrastructure and the creation of a qualified workforce are among the most important components of competitiveness. With the rapid development of information technologies in the current century and the latter part of the previous century, the information economy has replaced the industrial economy in production. Developments in information technology in the current century have led to the information economy replacing the industrial economy in production. Information technologies have a dynamic structure and are constantly evolving, giving rise to new approaches and software development languages that meet emerging needs. Qualified intermediate personnel, who are expected to respond to this dynamic change, must be experts in their field, able to adapt quickly to emerging technologies, and proficient in foreign languages relevant to their field. Çankaya Vocational School has an up-to-date curriculum to fill the gap in the field of training intermediate personnel required by the Computer Programming sector.

With the planned curriculum, programme students gain proficiency in current programming languages through Computer Programming I/II and Algorithms courses, as well as Database Management and Data Structures courses for data processing and management skills. In addition, they take specialised courses such as Web Programming, Cryptology and Information Security, Object-Oriented Programming, Mobile Programming, Software Design and Architecture, Computer Hardware and Software Project I/II application development courses as specialisation courses. Upon completing the required courses in the planned curriculum, they will be awarded the title of ‘Computer Programmer/Computer Technician’.

Students who successfully graduate from the Computer Programming programme will be eligible to apply to Computer Engineering and Software Engineering departments, among others, at universities and similar programmes, provided they achieve a sufficient score in the DGS (Vertical Transfer Exam) organised by ÖSYM, they will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in their field by transferring to 4-year undergraduate programmes, primarily in Computer Engineering and Software Engineering departments, as well as similar programmes at universities.

The fact that the programme offers education with an up-to-date curriculum in English distinguishes it from similar programmes in terms of the added value it provides to students. In this regard, it enables the training of individuals who will achieve global integration more efficiently and also paves the way for interaction with local and foreign stakeholders in the relevant sector.
